yay!
So I know I haven't really earned the right to do one of these recently, what with the not-posting-terribly-much thing, but if you are there and fancy commenting anonymously with some deep burning secret/toilet humour/something that's making you happy/rant you need to get off your chest/frivolous nonsense/information re. a debilitating crush you need to tell someone about, then have at it.

I'll kick things off (though, er, not anonymously as it's in my own journal post): I am going out tonight and I am going to drink MUCH BEER, hooray!

And you?

DIFFERENT ANONYMOUS COMMENTING POST-TYPE-THING

I am inspired by something I've just read in [info]yiskah's anonymous commenting Friday post and am trying a new twist on the anonymous comment post. The fact that it's nearly the end of Friday means this might not work, but I'm going to give it a go, and maybe, just maybe, it'll go on and on for ages anyway.

SO, what I'm suggesting is, comment anonymously here to say something nice about somebody else, and name their (LJ) name. Tell them you have a crush on them, tell them you admire them, tell them you have had mildly pervy thoughts about them (unlesss you know that would seriously weird them out, obviously), tell them you like their hair, etc etc. And THEN, this is where it almost certainly won't work but it might if everyone loves the plan, mention this post in your journal and look back later to see if someone has left a comment about YOU. You don't have to be on my friends-list to leave a comment here, and the person you're leaving a comment about definitely doesn't have to be on my friends-list. It's a big whole spreading-the-joy-type-post. So, like, you get to say something you're too shy to say to their face, and they get to see a nice thing about themselves.

I thought about whether or not people should just say nice things and not be anonymous, but I reckon the anonymousness is part of the thrill -- if you see someone has said something that gives you a little frisson of pleasure, that frisson will be amplified if you don't know who they are. Y'see?

Will this work? Who knows! The name of the game is: play nice, kids, and have fun.

(IP logging off and all that jazz, natch.)

Hi. This journal is almost entirely friends-only. I tend to only reciprocally friend people who have introduced themselves first (it's nice to know who's reading), so if you'd like to be added then say hello and we'll see what happens. Comments on this post are screened.
